What does it mean to be healthy?
To move a lot, look beautiful, eat clean and keep smiling!
Do you follow any specific way of eating?

Goodness for Goddesses by Francesca Giacomini, £8.44
It is important to maintain a balanced diet and always eat clean. I fuel my body with fresh organic fruits and vegetables that are rich in vitamins and antioxidants. I eat a lot of lean protein to stabilise my blood-sugar levels and unrefined carbohydrates, such as sweet potatoes, for energy and optimised brain function. I also eat good fats to make my skin glow and hair lustrous.
Why is it important for you to feel (and look) healthy?
It makes me feel good. Thanks to my diet and exercise routine, I have plenty of energy from morning until night. If you fuel your body correctly, you will glow from within and maintain your optimal weight. More important than how you look is how you feel. By eating healthily, you are energised, look great and have increased self-confidence. Being healthy is addictive.
What foods or groups of foods (if any) do you avoid?
I avoid all processed food, refined carbohydrates and sugar. These products have no nutritional value, promote ageing and are the cause of many illnesses such as diabetes.

“I eat sweet potatoes for energy.”
Do you cook every day?
I love to cook! It is a gift passed down from my grandmother. With my busy schedule, I do not have much time to be in the kitchen, so I found a way to make nutritious meals in no time whatsoever. I follow my own recipes because they are healthy, quick and easy. To share my love of cooking and healthy food, I wrote a cookbook called Goodness for Goddesses, which is available on iTunes and Amazon for Kindle.
“More important than how you look is how you feel.”
What is your optimal breakfast?
My optimal breakfast always contains: proteins (eggs, chicken, whey protein, plain yoghurt), healthy carbs (oats, sweet potatoes, millet, buckwheat), fruits (fresh or dried) and good fats (nuts, nut butter, olive or coconut oil).
Your favourite snacks?
I don’t tend to snack. My body functions better if I have three proper meals per day.
What is your food routine?
I have the breakfast of a queen, the lunch of a princess and a dinner that contains: grilled protein (meat or fish) and steamed vegetables (with a drizzle of olive oil). Sometimes I choose to give my digestive system a break and swap my dinner for herbal teas. Pukka is my favourite brand. Add a splash of rice/coconut milk and sweeten with stevia. I find it a good way to detox naturally.

“For those days when you really feel the need to be rid of unwanted toxins, I have created a Liquid Food Day ‘DIY Detox Day’.”
When you go out to dinner, how do you navigate the menu?
When I eat out, I always ask for plain grilled fish and steamed vegetables. My advice is to check the menu online before you go out. When ordering, try and ask for sauces to be put on the side. You never know what ingredients are hiding in the dressing!
What is the hardest part of the day for you to avoid temptation?
I believe that for most people, the worst parts of the day are mid-afternoon and post-dinner. If you have cravings, treat yourself to a good glass of water instead because sometimes we mistake hunger for thirst.
Alternatively, grab an organic coffee, sprinkle some cinnamon on top (it will add fat burning properties) and enjoy the delicious taste. A warm cup of herbal tea, sweetened with stevia, is also a good way to help the body and the soul resist temptation.

The Goddess Workout by Francesca Giacomini, £6.49
Have you ever tried a diet or detox that worked for you?
I have tried so many diets in my life, only to arrive at the conclusion that they don’t work. Over the years, I have found that the key to looking and feeling good is having a balanced diet with all the right nutrients. Always listen to your body.
There is no quick fix – just being consistent and having will power. However, for those days when you really feel the need to be rid of unwanted toxins, I have created a Liquid Food Day ‘DIY Detox Day’, which is available from Amazon. I wanted to provide others with a different way to detox.
What’s your exercise routine/schedule?
I like to train 30 to 45 minutes each day with my bespoke method. I prefer conditioning and low-impact exercises. As for cardio, I keep active all day. The key is not to stress your body. Quality and precision while performing exercises are the key to having a long, lean and toned physique.
“Always listen to your body. There is no quick fix – just being consistent and having will power.”
What do you wear to work out?
Black leggings, leg warmers, big hair and a shiny lipgloss are my staple. My other secret is that I always wear Agent Provocateur lingerie under my gym clothes. It makes me feel sexy. I think that as women, it is always important to be in tune with our femininity.
